DWT Search Firm Submission Policy

Thank you for your interest in Davis Wright Tremaine LLP.

Posted Attorney Openings
Through our search firm portal, you will have access to open associate positions in which we are seeking third-party assistance. Only approved search firms will be provided with their individual login information to submit candidates. For questions regarding approval, please consult our FAQs below. Candidate resumes emailed directly to attorneys are not considered formal submissions.

If a position is posted, you do not need to submit a blind inquiry first. When submitting your associate candidate, please be sure to include their resume, cover letter, unofficial law school transcript (not grades drafted on a word document), brief relevant writing sample/deal sheet for which the candidate drafted a substantial portion, and the candidate’s personal contact information; this will complete your candidate’s application and we will not consider incomplete applications. We cannot accept writing samples exceeding 10 pages.. Also, take extra care to make sure you are uploading your candidate’s information to the correct candidate profile.

Your submission of an associate applicant will only be effective for that particular office and position; they will not be considered for other open positions. To maintain the integrity of the process and avoid conflicts of interest, we will accept no more than two candidates for a position per search firm recruiter at a given time. If one or both of your candidates have been rejected, then you may re-submit.

Partner and Counsel Positions
For partner or counsel candidate submissions, email a resume or bio along with your write-up to the recruiting manager for the appropriate practice area (see subsequent section for the list). Candidates emailed directly to attorneys are not considered formal submissions.

FAQ
Can I submit candidates to someone other than a recruiting team member? For example, the partner-in-charge or the office administrator of the office for the posted position?
Per our fee agreement, in order to be eligible for payment of a placement fee, the submission for an associate candidate has to be through the search firm portal and a candidate for partner or counsel will have to be emailed directly to the appropriate recruiting manager. Do not submit your candidate to our lawyers, including the partner-in-charge for the relevant office or the office administrator, as it will not be considered a valid submission. All submissions must be sent to the appropriate recruiting manager (if a blind inquiry) or through our search firm portal (posted position or we have authorized you to submit).

How can I get approval to submit candidates?
By signing and returning our current DWT search firm agreement. If you have any questions regarding the terms of the agreement, please contact the recruiting manager for the position in which you are submitting your candidate.

I have received my search firm ID, but it does not work. Who should I contact?
Please contact attyjobs@dwt.com for any questions regarding submitting your candidates. This email account is monitored frequently during business hours.

I have submitted my candidate for consideration, what happens next?
Once your candidate has been submitted, they will be reviewed by the recruiting manager and the hiring partner. Once the review is complete, we will follow up with you regarding next steps.
