In this role, you will work alongside experienced lawyers who are invested in mentorship and professional growth. Data Security Associate - Mid-Level - Washington, D.C.

Davis Wright Tremaine LLP seeks a mid-level data security associate attorney with at least three years of experience to join its Privacy and Security Practice. 

The ideal candidate will have at least two years of law firm experience, preferably at an AmLaw 200 law firm.  Excellent academic credentials and strong analytical and writing skills are required.  Prior experience with data security law is required.  Demonstrated ability in leadership, crisis management, and prior industry experience are a plus.

The lawyer filling this position will: (i) participate in internal investigations, (ii) draft security policies and procedures, (iii) conduct research on novel legal questions, (iv) assist in merger and acquisition due diligence, (v) draft responses to regulatory inquiries, and (vi) advise on draft legislation and suggest modifications.

Employment Counsel – San Francisco

The San Francisco office of Davis Wright Tremaine LLP seeks to hire a counsel-level attorney with a minimum of eight years’ experience to join its growing California and national employment law practice. The ideal candidate will have counseling and employment litigation experience and a broad understanding of federal and California employment laws and regulations. Preferably, the candidate should have a majority of experience in an employment practice group or employment-only law firm. The attorney’s practice will involve experience litigating single plaintiff and class action matters as well as providing advice and counseling to clients concerning employment law issues.  Counseling will include providing advice, drafting policies, handbooks, employment agreements, wage-hour, leave of absences, investigations, etc.  For more experienced attorneys interested in this position, a book of business is not required. We will also consider candidates in Los Angeles.

Patent Associate - Mid Level - Seattle

The Patent Group in the Seattle office of Davis Wright Tremaine is seeking a patent attorney with at least two years of patent preparation and prosecution experience.  An ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to work with clients of all sizes and in a variety of industries. A technical background in computer technology is required.  Hands-on experience with a wide variety of clients (from startups to Fortune 500 companies) and also experience with a variety of technology areas such as mechanical devices, consumer products and designs is highly desirable. Technical experience with cloud computing, cryptography, information security, robotics or block chain would also be desirable. 

Only candidates with a CS, or BSEE degree, or equivalent experience that are admitted to practice before the USPTO as a patent attorney should apply.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience with handling NLRB charges and representation petitions, labor arbitrations, and advice concerning organizing campaigns, labor strategy and positive employee relations.   California employment law experience, including policy review, wage and hour advice and employment litigation is a plus, as is healthcare industry experience.   This attorney’s practice will focus primarily on providing support to clients and colleagues concerning traditional labor law matters, including arbitrations and NLRB proceedings.   Travel will be required and will vary based on client needs and work location.  This position can be based out of the San Francisco or Los Angeles office.
