Energy Attorney - Mid to Senior Level - Washington, D.C.

The Washington, D.C. office of Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is seeking a mid-level associate, senior associate, or counsel for its growing national energy law practice. The candidate should have at least five years of FERC-related experience, including experience on natural gas rate cases and certificate matters.  FERC electric rate-making and hydroelectric licensing experience is a plus, but is not required.

The associate or counsel will work on natural gas pipeline rate and certificate cases for a nation-wide mix of clients.  He or she will interact directly with clients with the goal of quickly taking on responsibility to manage aspects of even complex cases independently.  He or she will also be given the training and resources to begin developing their own clients.

Information Security Senior Associate or Counsel – Washington, D.C.

Davis Wright Tremaine LLP has an exciting opportunity for a senior associate or counsel to join its Privacy and Security Practice Group.

The ideal candidate will have at least five years of privacy and security experience, including incident response and security remediation counseling, and will have a demonstrated interest in practical information security risk management.  To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who is a self-starter, is highly detail-oriented, is comfortable with direct client contact, and is comfortable interacting with C-suite executives and IT department heads. 

Excellent communication skills, academic credentials and strong analytical and writing skills are required.  An IT background or demonstrated technical interest is preferred and IAPP or CISSP certification is a plus.  Active membership in the DC Bar in good standing is required or at least plans to apply for membership in the DC Bar shortly after commencing employment.

A technical background in computer technology is required.  Hands-on experience with a wide variety of clients (from startups to Fortune 500 companies) and also experience with a variety of technology areas such as mechanical devices, consumer products and designs is highly desirable. Technical experience with cloud computing, cryptography, information security, robotics or block chain would also be desirable. A small portable book of business would be welcome, but not required.
