Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is seeking a litigation attorney for engagement through the firm’s contract attorney and alternative staffing program, DWTSurge. This contract attorney position will work with the Firm’s litigation practice group to help support and manage a high-volume of commercial litigation cases, including arbitrations, demand letters, small claims matters, and other litigation matters for large institutional DWT clients. Attorneys should be able to accommodate West Coast hours primarily, but there is flexibility on this. Attorneys must hold active bar admission in their state of residence and in a state where DWT maintains an office. Attorneys with significant experience in arbitration, demand letters, small claims matters, dispute resolution, pre-litigation, all phases of litigation, and who are seeking more flexibility in their practice, are encouraged to apply. In addition to flexibility, candidates can expect to work closely with DWT attorneys as part of a collaborative team, providing high-value legal services to DWT clients . This contract position offers the flexibility of remote work. This position is also flexible with respect to hours and is open to candidates seeking full-time or part-time hours. While the engagement is for an initial 6-month contract term, we anticipate the work to remain relatively steady and there is a high possibility of renewal of the contract position for successful candidates. We are looking for attorneys interested in establishing a long-term working relationship with the Firm. The selected resource will be responsible for drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery, and working directly with client teams, arbitrators, counterparties, and other stakeholders in support of a large institutional client. Attorneys should be highly organized with strong case management skills and will be required to regularly manage multiple matters with competing deadlines. The ideal candidate will be diligent about both the substantive and administrative requirements of the role to ensure excellent client service, responsiveness, and efficiency in their work. Attorneys should be able to work independently and exercise good judgement, but should also collaborate easily with lawyers and support staff to meet discrete litigation objectives within short deadlines. The Ideal Candidate will have: - 5+ years of litigation experience, specifically in arbitrations or small claims matters, in a mid-sized or large law firm and/or with large institutional clients.
- Residency and active bar admission in one of the following states: AK, AZ, CA, CT, FL, GA, IL, MD, MN, MT, NJ, NM, NY, OK, OR, PA, TN, TX, VA, WA, and WDC, and active bar admission in a state where DWT maintains an office (AK, CA, IL, NY, OR, VA, WA, or WDC).
- Experience representing client interests when meeting and conferring with various stakeholders, including opposing counsel.
- Strong drafting skills and experience.
- Excellent legal drafting and communication skills, including oral and written advocacy.
- Ability to distill research into meaningful and persuasive written work product, as well as to work meticulously to ensure work product quality.
- High-level of responsiveness and client service abilities.
- Availability to work at least 20 hours per week on an on-going basis, if seeking a part-time position. Availability to work at least 30 hours per week, not to exceed 40 hours weekly, on an on-going basis if seeking a full-time position.
- Ability to work remotely and primarily support West Coast hours.
- Excellent writing skills, strong attention to detail, and ability to produce high quality work product with minimal supervision and direction.

Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is seeking an experienced litigation paralegal through the firm’s alternative-track contract attorney and staffing program, DWTSurge. The selected paralegal will work with the firm’s Litigation practice to handle a high-volume of subpoena responses for the firm’s institutional clients. The selected paralegal may work remotely but should be prepared to support West Coast business hours. The selected paralegal will be responsible for tracking and responding to legal requests such as subpoenas, small claims, and arbitration demands; working with clients to collect documents and data for production; overseeing tracking systems; data entry; and serving as a liaison with the client. Other tasks include drafting correspondence and escalating legal questions. Close attention to detail, sound judgement, strong administrative, organizational, and interpersonal skills while prioritizing and managing multiple assignments are required. This contract position offers the flexibility of remote work and full-time hours; 37.5 hours per week is generally anticipated. The ideal candidate will have: - 3+ years of paralegal experience focused on litigation at a mid-sized or large law firm and/or with large institutional clients

This contract position will assist the firm's attorneys and the marquee client's funds team by handling a large volume of garnishments, levies, and lien responses. Key responsibilities include reviewing garnishment summons, evaluating liens, monitoring payment obligations, drafting responses, and taking appropriate actions using client tools. Additionally, the chosen paralegal will oversee projects by tracking deadlines, summarizing agreements or data, conducting due diligence reviews, and creating and maintaining document storage sites. The selected paralegal should be highly skilled in technology, detail-orientated, able to exercise sound judgment and possess strong administrative, organizational and interpersonal skills while prioritizing and managing multiple assignments. Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is seeking a part-time litigation attorney for engagement through the firm’s contract attorney and alternative staffing program, DWTSurge. This contract attorney position will work with the Firm’s litigation practice group to manage and support a high-volume of third-party subpoena requests and litigation responses for several of DWT’s institutional clients. Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is searching for a full-time patent prosecution scientist to work through the Firm’s alternative-track attorney and staffing program, DWTSurge. We are particularly interested in patent scientists with a desire to work with clients of all sizes and in a variety of industries. A technical background in computer technology is required. The initial term offered will run through the end of the calendar year and will offer full time employment with an annual 1,800 billable hour requirement. The annualized salary range for this full-time contract patent scientist position in Los Angeles, California is $111,000 to $124,000; and San Francisco, California is $121,000 to $138,000. The annualized salary range for this position in New York is $128,000 to $139,000. The annualized salary range for this position in Washington is $111,000 to $124,000. The annualized salary range for this position in Maryland is $114,000 to $130,000. The annualized salary range for this position in Washington D.C. is $114,000 to $130,000. The annualized salary range for this position in Illinois is $84,000 to $94,000. The annualized salary range for this position in Minnesota is $96,000 to $109,000. Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is seeking an experienced mid-level real estate attorney for engagement through the firm’s alternative-track contract attorney and staffing program, DWTSurge. The selected contract attorney will work with the Real Property practice group to provide temporary coverage handling loan transactions and financing matters. Attorneys must be barred in the state where they reside and in a state where DWT maintains an office.
The chosen resource will assist the firm's Real Property practice group with a large number of real estate finance transactions for clients, including drafting loan-related and other documents, handling title and survey reviews, and reviewing and summarizing subordinate financing sources and restrictive covenants documents.
This contract position offers the flexibility of remote work and an anticipated 20 hours/week. Hours may fluctuate depending on the availability of appropriate work. This contract role will provide temporary attorney coverage for an anticipated 3-4 month initial engagement. There is a possibility of an extension of the contract for additional months for successful candidates, although any extension or renewal is not guaranteed and will be based on attorney coverage needs. We are looking for attorneys interested in establishing an alternative-track working relationship with the firm on an exclusive basis. The ideal candidate will have:
- 3+ years of real estate experience in a mid-larger law firm or in-house setting.
- Residency in one of the following states: AK, AZ, CA, CT, FL, GA, IL, MD, MN, MT, NJ, NM, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, RI, TN, TX, VA, WA, and WDC.
- Attorneys must have active bar admission in their state of residence and a state in which DWT maintains an office.
- Strong drafting skills and experience managing loan transactions, including financing and deal closings.
- Availability to work part-time hours, 20 hours per week.
- Flexibility for anticipated hours to fluctuate as needed.
- Ability to work remotely and quickly handle high volume programmatic legal matters.
- Excellent writing skills, strong attention to detail, and ability to produce high quality work product with minimal supervision and direction.
- Excellent proactive communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to maintain effective working relationships and communicate verbally and in writing, with clients, firm members, and other business contacts.
Please note that this is a temporary contract position managed by DWT’s flexible attorney program, DWTSurge.
