DWTSurge Contract Communications Program Manager 

Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is seeking a contract Communications Program Manager for engagement through the firm’s contract attorney and alternative staffing program, DWTSurge. This contract position will work with the Firm’s Litigation practice group supporting a large institutional client’s legal team focused on cybercrime and intellectual property enforcement matters. 

This position will involve close and exclusive collaboration with the client’s in-house Customer Protection & Enforcement legal team. The selected candidate will assist with the development of a cross-functional communication plan that supports additional teams within the company. In this position, the selected candidate will collaborate with client contacts to establish communication plans and strategies, publish team updates using online tools, such as the internal website and newsletter, and draft a variety of communications. Additional responsibilities include managing inventory of team templates, using data tracking tools to monitor communication efforts, and staying apprised of business developments to proactively identify strategies to advance team objectives.  

Candidates must be highly detailed oriented and service minded, exercise sound judgement, and posses strong administrative, organizational, and interpersonal skills while prioritizing multiple time-sensitive assignments. Individuals with communications and/or public relations experience are encouraged to apply. 

This role will be fully remote and candidates must be willing to accommodate a West Coast business schedule. We anticipate the role will require close to full-time hours, 37.5 hours per week, however we cannot guarantee a minimum hours of work per week. While the engagement is for an initial 12-month contract term, we anticipate the work to remain relatively steady and there is a high likelihood that the contract position may be renewed for successful candidates. The ideal candidate will have: 
  • 5+ years of work experience in communications or public relations with large institutional companies is preferred; candidates with related experience and strong academic background will be considered. 
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Residency in one of the following states: AK, AZ, CA, CT, FL, GA, IL, IN, KS, MD, MN, MT, NJ, NY, OK, OR, PA, TN, TX, VA, WA, and WDC. Strong preference for candidates located in AK, CA, IL, NY, OR, WA, or WDC. 
  • While we are open to candidates in several states, candidates must be available during West Coast business hours to ensure strong collaboration with other team members. 
  • Demonstrated skills in communication management, communication drafting, and strategic planning. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Experience using tech tools for data analysis such as SQL or Excel, and the willingness to adapt to and learn new technology.  
  • High level of attention to detail with a view to thoroughness and accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain exceptional professionalism at all times.

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written. 
  • Ability and willingness to communicate and handle stressful situations in a professional, calm, courteous manner.

Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is seeking an experienced employee benefits attorney for engagement through the firm’s alternative-track contract attorney and staffing program, DWTSurge. The selected contract attorney will work with the firm’s Employment Services Group, focusing on ERISA and other employee benefit and executive compensation matters. While attorneys can work remotely, they must have active bar admission in their state of residence and a state in which DWT maintains an office.
 
This contract role involves supporting the firm’s clients by researching and analyzing employee benefit plans, including retirement and health plans for ERISA compliance; preparing benefit plan summaries and notifications to plan participants; analyzing questions relating to stock option plans; drafting motions and legal research relating to ERISA fiduciary issues; and conducting benefits-related due diligence for corporate transactions. Candidates must be adept at managing multiple priorities, meeting tight deadlines, and demonstrating meticulous attention to detail. The ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment is essential, as is the capacity to collaborate effectively with various business stakeholders, other attorneys, and support staff to achieve objectives within short timeframes.

This position provides the flexibility of remote work with part-time hours for an initial 6-month contract. Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is seeking an experienced paralegal for engagement through the firm’s alternative-track contract attorney and staffing program, DWTSurge. The selected paralegal will work with the firm’s Litigation practice to support the firm’s large technology client with high volume finance matters. The selected paralegal may work remotely but should be prepared to support West Coast business hours. 

This contract position will assist the firm's attorneys and the marquee client's funds team by handling a large volume of garnishments, levies, and lien responses. Key responsibilities include reviewing garnishment summons, evaluating liens, monitoring payment obligations, drafting responses, and taking appropriate actions using client tools. Additionally, the chosen paralegal will oversee projects by tracking deadlines, summarizing agreements or data, conducting due diligence reviews, and creating and maintaining document storage sites.

The selected paralegal should be highly skilled in technology, detail-orientated, able to exercise sound judgment and possess strong administrative, organizational and interpersonal skills while prioritizing and managing multiple assignments. Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is seeking an experienced mid-level real estate attorney for engagement through the firm’s alternative-track contract attorney and staffing program, DWTSurge. The selected contract attorney will work with the Real Property practice group handling loan transactions and financing matters.

This contract position will be remote, part-time, and will be for an initial 6 month term. For successful candidates, the contract position may be renewed for additional terms and the opportunity could be significantly longer. We are looking for attorneys interested in establishing a flexible working relationship with the firm on an exclusive basis. 

The chosen resource will assist the firm's Real Property practice group with a large number of affordable housing construction loan transactions for clients, including drafting loan-related and other documents, handling title and survey reviews, and reviewing and summarizing subordinate financing sources and restrictive covenants documents. 

The ideal candidate will have: 
  • 3+ years of real estate experience in a mid-larger law firm or in-house setting. 
  • Residency in one of the following states: AK, AZ, CA, CT, FL, GA, IL, MD, MN, MT, NJ, NM, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, RI, TN, TX, VA, WA, and WDC.
